The department conducts research into new materials, develops promising technologies and improves traditional technologies for the production and storage of IFD documents, as well as the reproduction of copies from IFD documents using the latest equipment.
The department's scientific interests extend to modern technologies for digitization and long-term storage of information, including the formation of IFD on electronic media and the development of technology for obtaining images of documentation using digital photography.
The department develops industry and state-level regulatory documents related to the standardization of technological processes in terms of material costs and labor intensity.
The department has developed a number of key technologies:
production of microfilms for the insurance fund;
reproduction of full-size paper copies from microfilms;
provision of users with electronic versions of IFD documents;
storage of microfilms;
photographing documentation using digital equipment;
creation of digital images containing information about cultural values for the formation, maintenance, and use of the insurance fund of documentation of Ukraine;
automation of technological operations for control and preparation for microfilming of digital images of documents from the insurance fund of documentation of Ukraine, etc.
