Scientific activity carried out within the state insurance fund documentation system is aimed at implementing state policy on the creation and storage of Ukraine's insurance fund documentation and ensuring the introduction of advanced technologies for the formation, accumulation, reproduction, and transfer of information to users of the insurance fund documentation.
The priority areas of this activity include tasks related to:
- technological and design support for the insurance fund of documentation;
- development of automated systems and software;
- design and engineering work on new construction, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment of enterprises and institutions in Ukraine;
- regulatory support for the functioning of the state system of the insurance fund of documentation;
- international cooperation, organization of the development, review, examination, coordination, and preparation for approval of draft international, interstate, national standards, and other regulatory documents on standardization.
These tasks in the state system of the insurance fund of documentation are carried out by a leading research institution in the field of formation, maintenance, and use of the insurance fund of documentation - the Scientific-Research, Project-Design and Technological Institute of Micrography (SRI Micrography), which was established on the basis of the Kharkiv State Design Institute of General Mechanical Engineering.
The SRI of Micrography is the only scientific research, design, and experimental technology institution that addresses pressing issues in micrography and provides scientific and technical support for the creation, maintenance, and use of Ukraine's insurance fund of documentation.
SRI of Micrography are as follows:
- Scientific and technical forecasting of the development of science and technology in the areas of creating Ukraine's insurance fund of documentation and ensuring safety in emergency situations.
- Research and development of methodologies and scientifically based criteria for the creation and accumulation of insurance funds for industries and regions.
- Development and implementation of modern micrographic and reprographic equipment.
- Development and implementation of new information technologies and automated systems.
- Development of traditional and progressive technologies for the creation and long-term storage of insurance funds.
- Development and maintenance of regulatory documents for the “Insurance Fund for Documentation” and “Safety” standards complexes.
- Maintenance of the secretariat of the Technical Committee for Standardization “Insurance Fund for Documentation” (TK 40).
- Development, review, examination, coordination, and preparation for approval of draft international, interstate, national standards, and other regulatory documents.
- Comprehensive development of design and estimate documentation for new construction, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment of enterprises.
- Interaction with educational and scientific institutions of Ukraine in accordance with agreements on scientific and technical cooperation.
- Participation in the retraining and advanced training of scientific and engineering personnel in the field of IFD.
